This is the best cookbook I have ever owned. My brother gave me my 1st book in 1972 and I wanted an updated version. It is my go-to help for just about everything. I would recommend it to everyone who wants a comprehensive help in cooking and preparation as well as excellent recipies.
Cooking is my wife's hobby - & she loves being in her kitchen.She asked for this book as a birthday gift and is absolutely thrilled with it. It's not a recipe book, it's an education in food. When looking for a recipe, it provides background on the food, its preparation, its nutritional value, its consumption, and alternatives about it.She's learned so much about various foods that she hasn't even prepared or served and finds the reading so informational and interesting that it's become her learning pastime as well as her cooking resource.
No one w/ a kitchen should be without this book. This is it. the kitchen bible. or at least an earlier issue. There really is nothing more to say.
I wanted this newer version for quite awhile. I love my old Joy of Cooking. It is the bible of cookbooks in my opinion. I am very, very pleased that I got it, especially at a great price. I'm sure it will get used as much as my old edition.
My first cookbook from Rombauer and Baker was purchased in the 70's and this is the most wonderful addition to my cooking library.The purchasing experience was terrific. Will be looking for this provider in the future.
